Enjoy an Educational Beekeeping Tour close to Florence!
Our small farm is inspired by the principles of regenerative agriculture. It is located in San Donato in Collina, in the hills of Florence.
It was born in 2023, from the idea of recovering an olive grove that had been abandoned for 25 years to make it a meeting place for people and nature. You can find educational beekeeping workshops, honey sales and rural experiences.
We will spend a couple of hours on our small farm nestled in the countryside, to discover together the world of bees, an insect as useful as it is fascinating, from birth to honey harvest.
We will begin our experience with a theoretical introduction, useful to provide you with initial knowledge about the tools used by the beekeeper and the structure of the hive.
This will be followed by a practical part, in which guests will actively participate during a visit to a hive (with appropriate protections even for children), looking for the queen bee, thus discovering how a bee colony is organized and structured.
For younger children, or for anyone who is not interested in a hands-on visit to the apiary, we offer the opportunity to have their own experience with the young calves Nala and Reina in a beautiful olive grove, spoiling them with food and cuddles, establishing a relationship with them based on mutual respect, and learning the methods of pasture management according to the Voisin methodology, as well as the care necessary for animal welfare.
To conclude, honey tasting and sampling with local cheeses and products.
