Enjoy an Educational Beekeeping Tour close to Florence!

Our small farm is inspired by the principles of regenerative agriculture. It is located in San Donato in Collina, in the hills of Florence.

It was born in 2023, from the idea of recovering an olive grove that had been abandoned for 25 years to make it a meeting place for people and nature. You can find educational beekeeping workshops, honey sales and rural experiences.

We will spend a couple of hours on our small farm nestled in the countryside, to discover together the world of bees, an insect as useful as it is fascinating, from birth to honey harvest.

We will begin our experience with a theoretical introduction, useful to provide you with initial knowledge about the tools used by the beekeeper and the structure of the hive.

This will be followed by a practical part, in which guests will actively participate during a visit to a hive (with appropriate protections even for children), looking for the queen bee, thus discovering how a bee colony is organized and structured.

For younger children, or for anyone who is not interested in a hands-on visit to the apiary, we offer the opportunity to have their own experience with the young calves Nala and Reina in a beautiful olive grove, spoiling them with food and cuddles, establishing a relationship with them based on mutual respect, and learning the methods of pasture management according to the Voisin methodology, as well as the care necessary for animal welfare.

To conclude, honey tasting and sampling with local cheeses and products.

Wonderful Experience! Francesca Torzo

It's those experiences that you have to do once in a lifetime. Friendly and hospitable, it's nice to know that there are still people like that, in a world where technology counts more than that I contact with nature. Entering the property, you forget to have a phone number because the farmer is able to convey his passion to you through words, involving you and introducing you to new and small producers who respect his guideline. If you're in the area, stop because you won't regret it

Fantastic experience! Alex

This was a fantastic experience for my family! The farmer was very passionate and taught us a lot about authenticity and quality Actually seeing the bees was amazing. They were so calm and we weren't nervous at all. You could tell that they were very taken care of. After, we enjoyed the picturesque hillside drinking wine and snacking on local meats and cheeses (and of course the honey!) It was so delicious that we ended up purchasing some for family and friends back home! I would recommend this for anyone wanting to experience authentic Tuscan culture!

Absolutely recommend this! Lucy Gray

Easy to find, and worth the trip out of Florence. Lorenzo was very friendly, welcoming and full of knowledge that he has gained looking after bees. The location is stunning. It was wonderful hearing his story about his ambitions for the farm and his attention to ensuring that his honey is organic. The kids really enjoyed dressing up in the bee keeping gear, asking questions and seeing the bees up close! It was fancinating and we learnt so much about bees! We were also treated to some food treats and taste his honey. The kids say his honey tastes amazing! Absolutely recommend this!
