Parmigiano Reggiano Dairy Tour
An amazing experience! Denise Kir

An amazing experience! This producer is family owner and makes 14 wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano a day all by hand! It was so interesting to watch the whole process and to see the wheels in their salt baths and then in the aging room. We also got to taste 12, 24 & 36 month aged Parmigiano Reggiano and compare the texture and flavour of these. The tour and experience is well worth it!

This was a wonderful tour Jim Coates

This was a wonderful tour to get to see how parmesan is traditionally made. We went for the 9 am tour, which allows you to see the process starting with them getting the cheese out of the giant cooking pots. (You don't get to see the cows or the milking, as that happens offsite and very early in the morning.) The tour guide was affable and it was very interesting to see the different stages of the process. We also enjoyed the tasting at the end and seeing how much the aging makes a difference in the texture and taste of the cheese. The tour was long enough to be interesting, but short enough to not make my 4 year old antsy - it was his favorite tour of our trip!

Fantastic tour! Katrina Ooms

Fantastic tour! This is a small, family-run operation. The guide is the son of the two cheese makers. We learned all about what makes a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. My tweens/teens were engaged. Beware that the tour does take you into a couple of rooms with a very strong smell, so being a mask if you are semi to smells. The experience lasted about 1.5 hours.
